Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming movie Dune: Part Two is generating excitement ahead of its March 1 release in the US. Hamilton Watch, known for making watches for over 500 movies since 1930, seized the opportunity to collaborate with Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. They’ve created two exclusive Ventura timepieces inspired by the movie’s prop watch. One is the Desert Watch with a minimalist charm, while the Edge Dune Edition has a sci-fi vibe.

We’ll focus on the latter, the sci-fi timepiece. Both watches come in commemorative ellipsoid packaging, representing the psychedelic drug in Melange and water. Denis requested close collaboration with the film’s prop master, resulting in a unique design that breaks traditional watch norms. It’s a durable wrist gadget suitable for the Fremen.

The Hamilton Ventura Edge Dune Limited Edition has a black PVD coated case and measures 51mm x 47.2mm. It’s water-resistant up to 100 meters and features 3D relief elements similar to the original movie prop. I love the detailed circuit board effect and texture. The watch face shows time in cool blue digits and runs on quartz movement.

Time is displayed vertically in faint blue text that lights up when you press a button. The blue ring on the watch also lights up, giving it a complete look. When the lights turn off, they dim gradually, mimicking the original prop timepiece. The Hamilton Ventura Edge Dune watch is limited to 2,000 units and costs $2,500.
