Apple has just launched a new Apple Pencil, but it’s not the highly anticipated Apple Pencil 3. This version, known as Apple Pencil USB-C, is a mid-generation product with a more compact design (6.1 inches in length and 0.29 inches in diameter). The key distinction is its notably lower price compared to the previous model.

The new Apple Pencil with USB-C, priced at $79, offers a more budget-friendly option for iPad users compared to the $99 original Apple Pencil and the $129 Apple Pencil 2. However, it comes with some trade-offs. The USB-C model lacks pressure sensitivity, a crucial feature for artists who vary line thickness based on pressure. Additionally, it doesn’t include the double-click, wireless pairing, and charging features found in the Apple Pencil 2.
