Life for the visually impaired can be challenging, especially when it comes to completing simple tasks. Fortunately, inclusively designed gadgets help make things easier. One common need is keeping track of time, which can be difficult without assistance, especially if talking watches like the VOICE GRUS aren’t practical in noisy environments.

A Braille watch is a great alternative, as seen with Nikhil Kapoor’s Ehsaas concept. Now, another concept reimagines timepieces for the visually impaired, helping them live more independently.

This watch lets the visually impaired feel time through its Braille markings, which indicate the exact hour and minute. The square-shaped dial features two overlapping knobs for the hour and minute, each with distinct markings. An internal gear mechanism moves these knobs to display the precise time, offering a practical solution for those with visual disabilities.

The Blind Watch can be worn as a wristwatch with straps attached to its metal body. However, the designer suggests using a single strap, allowing it to function as a handheld clock. This makes it easy to carry in a pocket or hang around the neck to avoid losing it. The watch is slightly larger and fits better on people with bigger wrists.
